ELMHURST, Illinois – The Ripon women's tennis program had little trouble at Elmhurst on Tuesday, handily defeating the Bluejays 6-1 at the Lester Brune Tennis Courts for its first victory of the 2024-25 season.
Ripon (1-5) wasted little time getting on the board in doubles, taking an early 1-0 lead with a sweep of all three courts.
Josie Rondestvedt and
Tia Endrizzi were 6-1 winners on the top court, while
Hadley Berendsen and
Chase Polyak (6-0) along with
Isabella Engstrom and
Aubrey Malotky (6-2) handled business on the second and third courts.
In singles, Ripon took five of six first sets from Elmhurst (0-3), who only claimed a straight-set win on the top line. Endrizzi was a 6-1, 7-5 winner on court two, and Berendsen coasted to a 6-1, 6-0 victory on the third line.
Polyak (6-1, 6-2), Engstrom (6-1, 6-0) and Malotky (6-0, 6-1) all had little resistance on the fourth, five and six lines to help the Red Hawks easily take down a CCIW foe.
NEXT UP: Ripon stays on the road for a 3 p.m. match on Thursday, September 12 at UW-Stevens Point.
