RIPON, Wisconsin – On a hot and humid Sunday afternoon at Hopp Stadium, the Ripon women's soccer program dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Augustana to round out a stretch of three games in the last six days.
 
Augustana (4-0-1) got on the board first thanks to Samira Khobdeh, who found the back of the net after a free kick by Liesl Whitener that went off the crossbar, giving the Vikings the lead in the 27th minute.
 
However, Ripon (1-4-2) responded in the 47th minute. After Martina Palazzolo applied the pressure near the Vikings' goal, the ball ricocheted off an Augustana defender and into the goal, tying the match at one apiece.
 
Unfortunately, the Vikings re-took the lead for good in the 50th minute and added to their lead with another tally in the 60th minute.
 
Ripon was outshot 22-2 in the game, though Rebecca Roszel and Martina Palazzolo both had excellent shots and looks throughout the second half.
 
Britt Hable played all 90 minutes in goal, accumulating seven saves.
