RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's tennis program opened its 2024-25 home slate on Sunday morning, falling 7-0 to Lake Forest at the Ripon High School Tennis Courts.
Ripon (1-8, 0-2 MWC) fell behind early in doubles to Lake Forest (4-0, 1-0 MWC) but not without putting up a fight – the #3 doubles pair of
Hadley Berendsen and
Isabella Engstrom fell in a spirited 7-6 (4) tiebreak.
The Foresters, perennially one of the top teams in the Midwest Conference, handled business in singles, winning all six courts in straight sets.
Aubrey Malotky won two games in each set on court six for the Red Hawks.
NEXT UP: Ripon now enjoys two weeks off before re-entering Midwest Conference play at Illinois College (9 a.m.) and Monmouth (3 p.m.) on Saturday, September 28.
