APPLETON, Wis. -- The Ripon women's soccer program (4-9-5, 2-3-3 MWC) finished their 2025 campaign this Saturday, Nov 1, against the Lawrence University Vikings (9-4-6, 5-1-2 MWC).
The Vikings came out on their home field aggressive, putting the Red Hawks on their back foot from the outset. Taking their first shot only 20 seconds into the game, the Vikings would find the back of the net in the 9th minute, taking a 1-0 lead over Ripon with 81 minutes left to play. The Red Hawks would keep pace with the hosts across the first despite the early misfortune, finding five shot attempts across the first half. GoalkeeperÂ
Britt Hable (Oshkosh, Wis., Oshkosh West HS) put together a strong performance, rallying back from the early score to earn nine saves while conceding no more goals. ForwardÂ
Addison Misner (Richland, Mich., Gull Lake HS) would look to answer back for the Red Hawks after the goal, putting two shots on goal for Ripon in the final half, but find both attempts stopped by the Viking goalkeeper.Â
The Red Hawks battled on against the #3 MWC team, with defenderÂ
Jadyn Johnson (Seymour, Wis., Seymour Community HS) joining Misner in putting a shot on goal late in the game, but the Vikings would prove too steady, shutting down the attempt while holding Ripon to seven on target attempts for the game. The clock expired on a 0-1 Ripon loss, concluding the women's soccer season for the Red Hawks.Â
The Red Hawks end the season with a 4-9-5 overall record and a 2-3-3 record in the Midwest Conference, taking sixth place in the conference standings. 2025 conference champion Lake Forest, Illinois College, Lawrence and Grinnell will compete next week in the MWC Tournament, vying for the conference's automatic bid into NCAA postseason play.Â
