OSHKOSH, Wis. -- After continuing to rewrite the Ripon College record book, sophomore Joley Berger (Dunbar, Wis., Pembine HS) of the women's track and field program has been named the Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Berger turned in another standout performance in the 3000 meters, clocking a personal-best time of 9:51.39 to set a new school record. The mark broke her own previous record of 10:02.10, which she had set just one week earlier, and placed her among the top competitors in Division III. At the time of the performance, Berger ranked No. 24 nationally in the event.
Since then, Berger has continued to climb the national standings and currently sits No. 17 in Division III in the 3000 meters, underscoring her rapid progression and consistency throughout the indoor season.
Berger's latest accolade highlights an impressive stretch for the Red Hawks, as she continues to establish herself as one of the top distance runners in the conference and the region.
This honor marks another Midwest Conference weekly award for Berger and the Ripon women's track and field team during a strong indoor campaign.
Ripon returns to action at home on Saturday, Feb 14, hosting the Dick Hendricks Invite at the Willmore Center as the Red Hawks continue a busy and successful run of home competition.
