Ripon Women's Tennis Sweeps Wisconsin Lutheran 7-0, Reaches Most Wins Since 2003-04

JACKSON, Wis. -- The Ripon College women's tennis team continued its strong season on Friday with a dominant 7-0 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran, marking the program's highest win total since the 2003-04 season.

Ripon controlled the match from the start, sweeping all three doubles flights to take an early 1-0 lead. The No. 1 duo of sophomore Josie Rondestvedt (Altoona, Wis., Altoona HS) and junior Jessi Griepentrog (Freedom, Wis., Fox Valley Lutheran HS) earned a 6-4 win, while seniors Catherine Skoglund (Roberts, Wis., St. Croix Central HS) and Allison Pavlovec (Decorah, Iowa, Decorah HS) followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 2. Senior Allison Larson (Lodi, Wis., Lodi HS) and sophomore Isabella Engstrom (Ripon, Wis., Ripon HS) capped the doubles sweep with a commanding 6-1 win in the third flight.

In singles play, Ripon carried that momentum across the lineup, winning all six matches in straight sets. Rondestvedt set the tone at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory, while Larson (No. 2) and Griepentrog (No. 3) each posted 6-2, 6-2 wins.

Skoglund added another point at No. 4 with a 6-2, 6-0 decision, and Pavlovec was dominant at No. 5, not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win. Junior Isabella Demeuse (Hartford, Wis., Hartford Union HS) closed out the sweep at No. 6 with another 6-0, 6-0 performance.

With the win, Ripon improves its season total to nine victories, the most for the program since the 2003-04 campaign, continuing a resurgent year for the Red Hawks.

Ripon will close out its season on March 28 with its final matches, against University of Northwestern and Buena Vista University, in Minnesota.
