RIPON, Wis. - In their final home game of the season, the Ripon volleyball team lost to St. Norbert, 3-1. The Red Hawks dropped the first two sets, 16-25 and 19-25, before winning the third 25-23. They couldn't dig out of that 2-0 hole however, losing the fourth set 13-25.
Ripon (14-14, 6-3 MWC) finished the match with a team hitting percentage of .149. They were led by
Karlye Wehner's 15 kills and 10 digs, as she was honored prior to the match for Ripon's Senior Day. Sophomore
Emily Gary added 14 kills and two block assists.
Abbi Williamson and
Allison Barnes added eight and seven kills, respectively, while Williamson led all players with 36 assists.
St. Norbert (14-14, 8-2 MWC) recorded at double-digit kills in all four sets, while posting a team hitting percentage of .230. They were led by Heidi Spies' 15 kills and three block assists. Breanne Brocker added 13 kills, while Anika Johnson finished with 11.
Despite the loss, Ripon remains in the race for a Midwest Conference Tournament spot. They can clinch a spot in the Tournament with either a Lake Forest loss to Carroll on Wednesday or by defeating Beloit in their final game of the season.
