JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - After two Midwest Conference matches this season, the Ripon College volleyball team is still yet to lose a set. The Red Hawks defeated Illinois College in three sets on Saturday (25-17, 25-20, 25-18) to remain undefeated in the MWC.
Ripon (10-11, 2-0 MWC) recorded at least 13 kills in all three sets, culminating in an 18-kill performance in the third and final frame.
Karlye Wehner led the Red Hawks with a match-high 12 kills, to go along with 14 digs, two assists and one block.
Emily Gary and
Allison Barnes added 10 kills apiece, while recording hitting percentages of .450 and .360, respectively. That duo also combined for six block assists.
Abbi Williamson posted a match-high 31 assists, to go along with seven kills and 11 digs.
Wylie Gahart led the Red Hawks in digs with 16.
Illinois College (2-13, 0-3 MWC) received a 10-kill performance from Alese Speckhart. Maurissa Moulton and Lisa Lowry combined for 27 assists for the Lady Blues, who also got 20 digs from Allison Perkins.
The Red Hawks will try to keep their momentum going on Tuesday when they'll host Lawrence University. That match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Wyman Gymnasium in Ripon and can be seen live on
