RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks lost in three sets Friday to 20th-ranked Cornell College in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament, ending their season. Ripon lost the first set, 17-25, before also losing the next two, 14-25 and 24-26.
Ripon (15-15), who finishes the season with their most wins since 2004, was led by Allison Barnes' 10 kills, while also recording five digs. Karlye Wehner and Emily Gary each registered seven kills, while also recording two blocks apiece. Wehner also tied for the team lead in digs with 10, along with Abbi Williamson, who also recorded a match-high of 25 assists.
Cornell (27-3) was led by Kathleen O'Conner's 16 kills, while Jessica Noble and Taylor Dicus posted nine and eight kills, respectively. The Rams recorded 10 total team blocks, while Ripon had three.
The Red Hawks finish the season with the 10th-most kills in school history (1,252), while also recording the eighth-most assists in school history (1,154).
