MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Wisconsin Lutheran scored three first half goals Sunday afternoon and the Red Hawks could never recover, losing to the Warriors, 4-0. Ripon was outshot in the game, 25-12, as the Red Hawks managed six shots in each period.
The Warriors (1-0-1) netted their first goal in the fifth minute when Mavric Otterstatter scored on a Penalty Kick. They would double their lead five and a half minutes later on an Austin Drake goal. Brad Mallmann gave WLC a 3-0 lead in the 15th minute, scoring on assists from Matt Bishop and Taylor Hershoff, putting the game out of reach.
Ripon's Cameron Plantz and Cody Messerschmidt combined to save seven shots in goal for the Red Hawks (0-2-0). Wisconsin Lutheran's Jon Stewart played the entire game between the posts for the Warriors, saving six shots.
