GALESBURG, Ill. - The Ripon men's soccer team allowed two goals in each half Saturday afternoon, en route to a 4-0 loss at Knox College. The Red Hawks were also outshot by Knox 17-8 in the game, including 10-3 in the first half.
Knox (7-1, 1-0 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 31st minute when Nathaniel Logie scored his 11th goal of the season on an assist from Max Gatyas. Logie would add his 12th goal of the season just before halftime on an assist by Charles Edemba.
In the second half, Chalrie Harned got into the action with his fifth goal of the season in the 53rd minute on Gatyas' second assist of the day. Andy Van Buskirk netted his second goal of the season to cap the scoring in the 62nd minute on an assist from Harned.
Cody Messerschmidt played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks (0-6, 0-1 MWC), saving three shots on the day. His counterpart, Knox's Sean Dockrell also played the entire game, making one save.
The Red Hawks will be in action again on Sunday, when they'll face Monmouth College. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Monmouth, Ill.
