FOND Du LAC, Wis. - After splitting the first two sets in Wednesday's match, Ripon College took the final two to earn a 3-1 victory at Marian University. The Red Hawks won the first match 25-20, before losing the second, 18-25. They then finished the match off by winning the third and fourth sets, 25-19 and 25-16, respectively.
Ripon (2-3) recorded at least 12 kills in each of the three sets they won, including 17 kills in the first frame. Allison Barnes led the team with 17 kills, while Karlye Wehner added 16, to go along with 14 digs. Emily Gary added nine kills, while tying Paige Buddenhagen for the team lead in block assists with five. Freshman Abbi Williamson once again led the team with 39 assists, while Brianne Milroy's 17 digs was also a team-best.
The Red Hawks won't have much time to rest, as they'll travel to Saint Paul, Minn. on Friday to take part in the Hamline University Tournament. That event will conclude on Saturday with Ripon playing two games on both days. Friday's games will be against St. Kates and Crown College at 6 and 8 p.m., respectively.
