RIPON, Wis. - After losing their last two matches, the Ripon volleyball team got back on the winning track Friday night, defeating Illinois College with ease in three sets (25-11, 25-17, 25-14). The win pulls the Red Hawks into a fifth-place tie in the Midwest Conference standings and keeps them within striking distance of the top four teams.
All 15 players saw time on the court for Ripon (12-9, 2-2 MWC), with 10 of them recording at least one kill. They were led by 12 kills from
Katie Berrell, who recorded a hitting percentage of .320, to go along with seven kills.
Emily Gary added seven kills and two block assists, while
Allison Barnes and
Maddie Koster each posted four kills. Barnes also finished with six digs and three blocks (one solo).
Abbi Williamson led the Red Hawks with 33 of the team's 36 assists, while
Courtney Bloomer registered a team-best 10 digs.
Illinois College (5-11, 2-2 MWC) was led by Holly Crocher's eight kills. Erin Washington added four kills and four block assists, while Erin Satterlee also recorded four kills, to go along with two block assists.
The Red Hawks will now go on the road for four straight matches, beginning Tuesday at Lawrence University. That match will begin at 7 p.m. in Appleton, Wis. and can be seen live atÂ
