JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Ripon's four-game winning streak came to an end Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 overtime loss at Illinois College. The Red Hawks didn't trail until the game-winning goal in the 97th minute, outshooting the Lady Blues in the contest, 18-15.

The Red Hawks (8-4-0, 4-2-0 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 37th minute of the first half on Paige Birschbach's team-leading 12th goal of the season. She was assisted by both Brandi Peltier and Hannah Mahr. That lead lasted until the final minute of regulation when Illinois College's Sarah Skaggs scored on a header just over the Goal Keeper on an assist by Ashley Sholmire. With the two teams knotted up at one in overtime, Skaggs struck again, scoring the game-winner from 20 yards out with just over two minutes left in the extra period.

Sidney Blodgett continued to be an iron woman in Goal for the Red Hawks, playing every second of every game this season. She made six saves in her 97 minutes and 47 seconds on Sunday. Illinois College's Corey Hanson and Cat Solberg combined for seven saves for the Lady Blues (8-4-1, 2-2-1 MWC).

Ripon will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll host Dominican (Ill.) University in a non-conference game on Wednesday. That match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon.
