Box Score MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Ripon volleyball team won its third match in a row Friday night, defeating Monmouth College in three sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-11) to keep pace with the upper half of the Midwest Conference and remain in a fourth-place tie in the MWC standings. The Red Hawks have now lost just one of their last 10 sets and have won six straight sets.
Ripon (14-9, 4-2 MWC) recorded at least 13 kills in all three sets, finishing with a season-best hitting percentage of .427, which included a third-set that saw Ripon record 14 kills and zero errors for a hitting percentage of .609 in that frame.
Paige Buddenhagen led the Red Hawks with 10 kills, while also producing three block assists.
Emily Gary and
Allison Barnes each recorded nine kills, while the duo also combined for three block assists.
Katie Berrell also registered nine kills, while
Brianne Milroy led the team with 10 digs.
Abbi Williamson recorded team-highs of two service aces and 36 assists, moving her into sixth place in school history with 1,748 career assists.
Monmouth (7-19, 1-6 MWC) was led by seven kills from Mackenzie Gillund, who also added six digs. Quincy Merritt was second on the team with six kills, while Johnna Schultz added a team-high 12 assists. The Fighting Scots failed to record a block, while Ripon finished with six total team blocks.
