Box Score WAUKESHA, Wis. - Ripon's winning streak ended at four matches Wednesday night, as they lost to Carroll University in three sets, 21-25, 13-25, 22-25. The Pioneers finished with a hitting percentage of .389, while the Red Hawks ended with a hitting percentage of .161.
Ripon (15-10, 5-3 MWC) recorded double-digit kills in two of the three sets. They were led by
Emily Gary and
Katie Berrell, whom each recorded eight kills, while
Paige Buddenhagen added five.
Abbi Williamson led the Red Hawks with 29 assists, while
Brianne Milroy led the way with 13 digs.
Carroll (11-16, 7-2 MWC) recorded double-digit kills in each of the three sets, while four players finished with double-digit kills. Caitlin Dolan led the team with 12 kills, while Casi Fredrick, Kelly Sloyan and Dana Voltolina each recorded 10. Taylor Kuehl added a match-high 39 assists, while Dolan added four blocks (one solo).
The loss drops Ripon into fifth place in the Midwest Conference standings, while Carroll became the third team to clinch one of this year's four MWC Tournament spots. The fourth and final spot will be up for grabs Friday night when Ripon hosts fourth-place Lake Forest College on Senior Night. That game will also double as #SpookyInStorzer in which fans are asked to dress up in their most creative Halloween costume.
