RIPON, Wis. - Ripon went toe-to-toe with Crown College for much of the first half during Friday afternoon's contest, before falling to the Storm, 3-1. Each team finished the game with 15 shots, while Ripon held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-4.

Crown (1-0) got the scoring started in the sixth minute when Truman Shetler found the back of the net on an assist by Sam Eckman. Ten minutes later, Ripon's Cameron Greene tied things up thanks to an assist by Perry Poulos. That tie lasted 20 minutes until Ger Jones scored on a pass by Shetler, who would later add his second goal of the game to cap the scoring.

James Saager and Cody Messerschmidt each played 45 minutes in goal for the Red Hawks (0-1), with Saager making all six of the team's saves. Tanner Fisher played all 90 minutes in goal for the Storm, saving four shots.

Ripon will be in action again on Saturday when they'll travel to Lakeland College at 1 p.m.
