The Ripon women's tennis team lost both of their matches Saturday by identical 9-0 scores. They began the day with a loss at Lake Forest, before ending the day with the same result at Carroll University in what was their first two Midwest Conference matches of the season.

Against Lake Forest (5-1, 2-0 MWC), Madeline VandenHouten put up the biggest fight, losing 6-4, 6-1 at number one singles. The Red Hawks (0-5, 0-2 MWC) lost all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-5. 

In the nightcap against Carroll, the Red Hawks' most competitive match came at number three singles where freshman Courtney Olson lost 5-7, 6-2, 8-10. Ripon lost all three doubles matches to the Pioneers by identical 8-1 scores.

The Red Hawks won't have much time to think about Saturday's losses, as they'll be back on the court Sunday at Beloit College. That match is scheduled for 9 a.m. in Beloit, Wis.
