Red Hawks Get Shut Out In Conference Opener

Box Score

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - In what was their first Midwest Conference game of the season, the Ripon men's soccer team lost to Lake Forest 4-0 on Saturday morning. All four of the Foresters goals came in the first 39 minutes of the first half.

It didn't take Lake Forest (2-6, 1-0 MWC) long to get on the board, as Dylan Hartman netted his first goal of the season just two and a half minutes into the contest. Six minutes later, the Foresters doubled that lead when Oliver Twagirakrist scored his first goal of the year. Hartman added his second goal of the game in the 10th minute, while Hugh Watanabe's first goal of the year capped the scoring in the 39th minute.

Cody Messerschmidt and James Saager split time in Goal for the Red Hawks (2-5-1, 0-1 MWC), combining for 13 saves. Lake Forest's Erik Sanetra and Ian Taylor also split time, but faced just 4 shots combined.

The Red Hawks will try to get on the winning track on Sunday when they'll travel to Beloit College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. in Beloit, Wis.
