RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team won their third consecutive match Saturday afternoon, defeating Monmouth College in five sets (25-17, 20-25, 25-9, 22-25, 15-7). That gives the Red Hawks six wins in their last seven matches, and helps them remain in second place in the Midwest Conference standings.
Leading the way for the Red Hawks (9-12, 6-1 MWC) was
Emily Gary, who posted 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .214, to go along with a team-high three block assists.
Kat Kulas added 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .529, while
Allison Barnes recorded 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .269. Barnes also finished with 12 digs, which was second on the team, only to
Stacie Klika's 17.
Abbi Williamson finished with a match-high 44 assists, moving the junior into second place in school history for career assists with 2,666. Williamson needs just 61 more assists to break the school record.
Monmouth (7-15, 1-6 MWC) was led by Quincy Merritt's 12 kills. Johnna Schultz led the Fighting Scots in assists (36), while Justine Bodenhamer led the team in digs (11).
The Red Hawks will hope to extend their winning streak next weekend when they'll travel to Lawrence University. That match will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. in Appleton, Wis. and can be seen live at,
