RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon College volleyball team improved to 3-0 in conference play Saturday afternoon with a three-set victory over Illinois College. The Red Hawks, which are one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the MWC, won the first set 25-19, before winning the next two 25-14 and 25-23, respectively.
Ripon (6-11, 3-0 MWC) finished each set with at least 15 kills, while recording a total hitting percentage of .242. They were led by
Allison Barnes' 15 kills and 10 digs.
Emily Gary added eight kills, giving her more than 1,000 for her career and making her just the sixth player in program history to accomplish that feat. Gary also recorded a match-high four service aces, while
Katie Berrell finished with eight kills.
Abbi Williamson led the way with a match-high 40 assists in just three sets, while
Maddie Koster recorded a match-best 11 digs.
Illinois College (6-10, 0-3 MWC) finished with a hitting percentage of .161. They were led by 10 kills from Holly Crocher.
The Red Hawks have won four of their last five matches. They will try to extend their current winning streak to four matches on Friday when they'll travel to defending MWC Champion Cornell College. That match will begin at 7 p.m. in Mount Vernon, Iowa and can be seen live at,
