Box Score at St. Norbert College
RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's women's tennis team lost both of their matches on Sunday, losing 6-3 at home against Beloit, before losing 9-0 at St. Norbert.
In the morning match against Beloit (2-6, 1-3 MWC), the Red Hawks (1-7, 0-5 MWC) won two of their six singles matches, while winning one of their three doubles matches. In singles play, Morgan Makar and Samantha Kiesner were victorious at the number four and five flights, respectively, by identical scores of 6-2, 6-0. Kiesner was also on Ripon's lone winning doubles team, along with Carly Wesner, which mounted a comeback to win by a score of 9-7.
After that, the Red Hawks traveled north to St. Norbert (5-2, 4-0 MWC), where they lost all six singles matches and all three doubles matches. The most competitive singles match came at the top flight where Maddie VandenHouten put up a fight before losing 6-3, 6-3. The Red Hawks were outscored 24-1 in their three doubles matches.
Ripon will look to get back on the winning track on Saturday when they'll face Bethany Lutheran and UW-Stout at 1 and 4 p.m., respectively, in Menomonie, Wis.
