GRINNELL, Iowa - Ripon's men's soccer team allowed four first half goals Saturday afternoon, sealing their fate in a 5-0 loss at Grinnell College. The Pioneers also outshot the Red Hawks, 21-2, with both of Ripon's shots coming in the second half.
Grinnell (4-5-0, 2-1-0 MWC) got on the board in the 17th minute when Evan Sorensen scored unassisted. Sorensen added a second goal four minutes later, while Ambar Kakkar and Caelum Froiken each scored once before halftime. The Pioneers capped the scoring in the 55th minute on a Michael Hurley goal.
Jimmy Amedeo played the entire game at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks (3-3-1, 0-3-0 MWC), making nine saves. Grinnell saw Major May and Michael Nattinger combine for the shutout, while Nattinger made the team's only save.
Ripon will try to rebound next weekend when they'll travel to Knox College on Saturday. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Galesburg, Ill.
