GALESBURG, Ill. - Forty-six days into the 2016 season, Ripon's women's soccer team has suffered their first loss of the year. The Red Hawks lost to conference-leading Knox College 1-0 Sunday afternoon, but despite the loss, still remain in second place in the Midwest Conference standings.
The score was tied at zero until the 83rd minute when Kelsie Pos scored the game's only goal on a Penalty Kick. Knox (15-0-1, 7-0-0 MWC) also finished the game with the edge in shots, 18-4, including a 7-1 margin in the second half.
Miye Aoki-Kramer started in goal for the Red Hawks (13-1-1, 4-1-1 MWC), making nine saves in 62 minutes. Sierra Daniger played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for Knox, saving one shot.
The Red Hawks will try to rebound on Saturday when they'll play Grinnell College in what will also be Ripon's annual Senior Day celebration, honoring

Morgan Johnson,
Danielle Senger,
Mikayla Huesman,
Cheyenne Rickerman, and
Paige Birschbach. That game will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon.
