MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Ripon lost to conference-leading Cornell College in three sets Friday, falling by a score of 15-25, 8-25, 19-25. The Red Hawks (15-8, 4-3 MWC) remain in the hunt for a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament, as they are now in fifth place, one-half games out of the fourth and final spot, with two conference games remaining.
Against Cornell (16-6, 8-0 MWC) the Red Hawks recorded 21 kills, led by
Paige Buddenhagen, who posted six.
Abbi Williamson and
Katie Berrell each finished with four kills, while Williamson led the team with 15 assists and three block assists.
Maddie Koster led all players with 14 digs.
Cornell finished the match with 42 kills. Lauren Ahart led the way with 11, while Diamond Boyd and Nicole Ciari added nine and eight kills, respectively. Katherine Devlin led the Rams with 34 assists, to go along with two service aces, while Ciari and Libby Schnoor each recorded four block assists.
