RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon men's soccer team fell to Grinnell College Saturday afternoon 4-1, as the Pioneers scored the game's final three goals, including two in the second half. Grinnell also held the advantage in shots, 19-5, with a 7-0 advantage in the second period.
Grinnell (9-6-1, 5-2-1 MWC) opened the scoring with a goal in the fifth minute on Antonio Dimarco's third goal of the season. Ripon (4-11-0, 0-7-0 MWC) tied things up later in the half on
Grant Grywalsky's second goal of the year, with the assist going to
Paul Karls. The Pioneers grabbed the lead back just before halftime when Major May converted a Penalty Kick for his first goal of the season.
Grinnell added to their lead in the second half when Artis Curiskis netted his sixth goal of the season in the 56th minute. Matt Record capped the scoring with a goal off the right goalpost.
Jimmy Amedeo played the entire game at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making nine saves. Cornell saw four saves combined between May, Michael Nattinger, and Jared Cloutier.
