RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team's 2016 season drew to a close Friday night with a 3-0 victory against Marian University, giving the Red Hawks their 17th win of the season, which is the program's highest single season win total since 2004. Ripon won the first two sets convincingly, 25-14, 25-13, before ending the match with a 25-23 victory in the third set. The Red Hawks finished with hitting percentage of .266, while holding Marian to a .042 hitting percentage.
Junior
Katie Berrell led the Red Hawks (17-9) with 16 kills, moving her into ninth place in school history with 870 career kills, while also posting a hitting percentage of .376.
Paige Buddenhagen added 13 kills, while
Sydney Radandt had eight and a hitting percentage of .571. Senior
Abbi Williamson recorded 41 assists, bringing her career total to 3,595, which now ranks ninth in Midwest Conference history. Williamson also finished with a match-high three blocks (one solo), while
Stacie Klika led the team in digs with 18.
Marian (6-22) was led by Katy Funkhouser's 11 kills, while Caitlyn Brehm finished with seven. Amber Baker added 18 assists for the Sabres, while Jenna Skroski posted 23 digs.
