MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Ripon College women's tennis team won their third consecutive match Tuesday night, defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering by a score of 7-2. That also marks the Red Hawks' sixth win in their last eight decisions. That improves Ripon's season record to 6-7, which is the team's highest win total since 2004.
Ripon won all six singles matches against MSOE. Maddie VandenHouten was victorious at the top flight, 6-2, 6-1, while
Morgan Makar won her second flight match 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).
Samantha Kiesner won at the number three position, 6-2, 6-1, while
Carly Wesner came out on top at number four, 7-6 (7-1), 2-6, 10-7. Madeline Salzer and
Katelyn Peroutka also won their singles matches at the fifth and sixth flights, respectively, by scores of 6-3, 6-2, and 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles play, MSOE won two of the three matches, with Ripon's only victory coming at the second flight where Wesner and Kiesner teamed up to win 8-4.
Ripon will try to keep things rolling Thursday when they'll travel to Lawrence University. That match will begin at 5 p.m. in Appleton, Wis.
