Ripon Falls To St. Norbert In MWC Tournament

Box Score DEPERE, Wis. - Ripon's women's basketball season came to an end Friday night with a 78-46 loss at St. Norbert in the semi-finals of the Midwest Conference Tournament. The Red Hawks shot 38 percent (14-48) from the field, including eight percent (1-12) from 3-point range.

The Red Hawks (14-10) were able to hang with St. Norbert (20-4) for one quarter of play, trailing 14-12 after the first six and a half minutes and 19-12 entering the second quarter. Then the Green Knights showed why they went undefeated in conference play during the regular season, using a 24-3 run to take a 23-point lead with four and a half minutes to play before halftime. Ripon would trail 43-22 at the break. In the second half, SNC continued to pour it on, outscoring Ripon in the third quarter, 25-10, en route to the 32-point victory.

Ripon was led by Maddie Koster's 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting. Jonalee Elliott added nine points and three rebounds, while Nicole Herkert recorded six points and three steals.

Jill Kleiman led St. Norbert with 13 points, while Regan Carmichael scored 11, to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Kyra VandenHeuvel and Sarah Ratajczyk each finished with 10 points. The Green Knights shot 48 percent (25-52) from the field, including 44 percent (7-16) from 3-point range.
