ASHLAND, Wis. - The Ripon men's soccer team scored one goal in Sunday's meeting with Northland College - but that's all they would need. The Red Hawks defeated Northland 1-0 behind
Paul Karls' team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Karls' goal came in the 17th minute of the first half and Ripon's defense did the rest. The Red Hawks (3-3) also out-shot Northland (0-6) by an 18-16 margin, while also holding the edge in corner kicks, 7-3.
Sophomore Goal Keeper
Jimmy Amedeo recorded two saves for Ripon to secure his sixth career shutout, while Northland's Thomas Whiting made five saves.
The Red Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll travel to Fond du Lac to battle Marian University at 4:30 p.m.
