Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ripon Moves To 9-0 Behind Sixth Shutout of the Season

RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon women's soccer team is exactly halfway through the 2016 regular season, and they are already tied for fifth in school history for single season shutouts, just one shy of tying the school record. The Red Hawks recorded their sixth shutout of the year Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 victory over Cornell College, improving their season record to 9-0-0 for the first time in program history. Ripon has outscored their opponents 35-3 on the season.

The first half of Sunday's game was scoreless, but Ripon finally broke through with a goal in the 66th minute when Kaylee Tadych notched her seventh of the season on assists from Paige Birschbach and Paige Pierce. Ten minutes later, Tadych found the back of the net again on an assist from Morgan Johnson to seal the win.

Ripon Goal Keeper Miye Aoki-Kramer recorded her fourth complete game shutout of the season, while also making seven saves. Her counterpart, Clara Garcia, also played all 90 minutes, saving seven shots. Ripon finished the game out-shooting Cornell by a 21-9 margin, including 12-5 in the second half.

The Red Hawks will look for their 10th consecutive victory to start the season on Thursday when they'll host Finlandia University. That game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon.
