Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Ripon Earns Comeback Victory At Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. - After falling behind by two goals just 11 minutes into Thursday's game, the Ripon men's soccer team rallied with three unanswered goals, including two in the second half, to defeat Lakeland University by a score of 3-2. The Red Hawks also out-shot the Muskies 13-11 in the contest.

Charles Apostolik started the scoring with Lakeland's two goals in the third and 11th minute, before Ripon cut that lead in half on Paul Karls' fourth goal of the season from 15 yards out, assisted by Cameron Greene.

Ripon (2-2) tied the game in the second half when Greene netted his second goal of the season on an assist from Zach Carlson in the 61st minute. That tie lasted six and a half minutes until Carlson assisted on another goal, this time by Nick Thillman, who found the net from about 13 yards away.

Jimmy Amedeo made five saves in 62 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks. His counterpart, Bradley Stoeckel, saved four shots for Lakeland (0-4), while playing all 90 minutes in goal.

The Red Hawk will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll travel to Illinois Tech. That game will begin at 7 p.m. in Chicago, Ill.
