RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team lost 7-0 Sunday to a Knox team that is yet to lose a conference game. The Prairie Fire also out-shot the Red Hawks 23-3, including 14-1 in the first half.
James Barrington scored the game's first goal in the eighth minute on a header. Lucas Sanchez and Alessandro Benelli each added a goal in the first half to give Knox (10-2-3, 5-0-0 MWC) a 3-0 halftime lead.
Barrington opened the second half just like the first half, with a goal in the opening minutes. Jun Min also got into the scoring action, while Sam Tatum scored on a Penalty Kick. Joey Dorgan's second goal of the season came in the final minute to cap the scoring.
Jimmy Amedeo and
Cole Jurish each played one half at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks ((2-12-2, 0-6-1 MWC), combining for 12 saves. Knox's Justin Dunn and Andrew Hind combined for the shutout, making three saves between the two of them.
