Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - Ripon defeated Beloit Saturday afternoon, winning in five sets, to move into fourth place in the Midwest Conference standings. The Red Hawks dropped the first set (20-25), before taking the next two frames (25-18, 25-17). After losing the fourth set 24-26, Ripon edged out the victory with a 16-14 win in the fifth and final set. The win marks Ripon's third in their last four matches.
Ripon (9-14, 4-2 MWC) posted a hitting percentage of .306, while holding Beloit (6-14, 1-5 MWC) to a hitting percentage of .094. The Red Hawks recorded double-digit kills in three of the five sets, while averaging 9.6 Kills per set.
Jonalee Elliott led Ripon with 17 kills, while
Kylie Tomashek added seven kills and
Kat Kulas,
Emily Allard,
Kaylie Marks, and
Brooke Bauer each finished the match with six. Allard led the team in assists with 24, while
Olivia Heck recorded the next-highest total with 21.
Stacie Klika added a team-high 21 digs, while Kulas and Marks each posted a team-best four blocks.
Beloit was led by nine kills from Amanda Baran, while Molly Muller and Jaylan Dunn each finished with six kills. Paige Wimbrow chipped in with 25 assists in the losing effort.
