Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ripon Loses Season Finale

RIPON, Wis. - Lake Forest scored a goal just 10 minutes into Saturday's women's soccer game, but that's all they would need. The Foresters defeated Ripon 1-0 behind that lone goal in what was the Red Hawks' 2017 season finale.

Lake Forest's goal came off the foot of Susie Baca, marking her fourth of the season. It was assisted by both Charlotte Jackson and Cassidy Hoyt. The Foresters (7-8-2, 5-2-2 MWC) also out-shot Ripon (10-7-0, 4-5-0 MWC) by a 13-6 margin, including 9-3 in the first half.

"I was extremely pleased and proud of how hard we played, and at times, how well we played, but we just couldn't create that great opportunity in order to equalize," Ripon Head Coach Greg Ruark said. "Our objective was to was to send the seniors out on a good note, but it wasn't meant to be."

Ripon Goal Keeper Miye Aoki-Kramer played all 90 minutes, making nine saves. That gives Aoki-Kramer 125 saves for the season, which is tied for eighth for a single season in program history. Lake Forest's Paige Thiel also played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper, recording four saves.
