Red Hawks End Regular Season With Pair of Losses

The Ripon College women's tennis team lost to Cornell and Grinnell on Saturday by identical 9-0 scores in what was their final tune-up before next weekend's Midwest Conference Tournament.

In the morning match against Cornell (6-5, 5-2 MWC), Ripon lost all six singles matches, before losing their three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-3. In singles play, Katelyn Peroutka nearly pulled out a victory at the sixth flight, falling 7-5, 0-6, 3-10.

In the nightcap, Ripon (3-16, 1-8 MWC) dropped each flight to Grinnell (10-1, 8-0 MWC). Peroutka again put up a fight at the sixth flight, before losing 6-0, 7-5.

The Red Hawks will bring their season to an end next weekend when they'll take part in the MWC Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wis.
