RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's baseball team stepped outside conference play Wednesday afternoon, losing to UW-Oshkosh by a score of 14-2. The Red Hawks were also out-hit by a 16-9 margin.
UW-Oshkosh (11-10) opened the scoring with a sac fly in the top of the first inning. Ripon (5-17) tied things up in the bottom of that inning on an RBI single by 
Hector Aguinaga, but UW-O recorded another sac fly in the top of the second to take the lead for good.
The Titans scored at least one run in each of the first five innings, plating three in the third, four in the fourth, and two in the fifth. Ripon's only other run also came in the fifth inning when 
Isiah Ramos drove in 
David La Tour with a sac fly to make the score 11-2. UW-Oshkosh added two more runs in the seventh, and one in the ninth to cap the scoring.
La Tour led Ripon with three hits, while 
Robbie Schuettpelz finished with two. UW-Oshkosh had five players record multiple hits, with three players finishing with three hits apiece.
Ripon will try to bounce back on Thursday in another non-conference game, as they'll host Marian University at 4 p.m. That game will be held at Francis Field in Ripon, with LiveStats available at
