Box Score RIPON, Wis. - Two-hundred minutes into Ripon's 2017 men's soccer season, they have still not allowed a single goal. The Red Hawks recorded their second consecutive shutout Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 blanking of Lakeland University. Ripon dominated the majority of the contest, out-shooting the Muskies by an 18-6 margin.
Ripon (1-0-1) broke a scoreless tie in the 37th minute on
Adrian Granados' first goal of the season, with the assist going to
Grant Grywalsky. Less than five minutes later, the Red Hawks were on the board again thanks to freshman
Noah Fish's first career goal, assisted by fellow freshman
James DeRose, giving Ripon a 2-0 halftime lead.
Grywalsky added to that lead early in the second half on an assist from freshman
Brad Schroeder. Schroeder also assisted on Ripon's fourth and final goal, which was credited to freshman
Christian Martinez.
Jimmy Amedeo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Red Hawks, recording six saves, for his second shutout of the season and eighth of his career. His counterpart, Jordan Salm, recorded 10 saves for Lakeland (0-2-0), while also playing all 90 minutes.
The Red Hawks will try to continue their shutout streak Wednesday when they'll host MacMurray College at 4 p.m. That game will be played at Prairie Field in Ripon and can be seen live atÂ
