Box Score 2 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Red Hawks took part in the first day of the Pointer Invitational on Friday, hosted by UW-Stevens Point, finishing the afternoon with mixed results. Ripon lost the first match in three sets to the host school, before defeating Lakeland in three sets in the nightcap.
In Ripon's first match, they lost the first set to the Pointers 25-17, before dropping the next two 25-9 and 25-8.
Emily Allard and
Jonalee Elliott led the Red Hawks with six kills apiece, finishing with hitting percentages of .235 and .400, respectively.
Olivia Heck led the team in assists (9), while
Stacie Klika led them in digs (7) and
Kat Kulas led the team in blocks (3).
Ripon (2-5) bounced back in the second and final match of the day, defeating Lakeland 25-22, 25-19, 35-33. Elliott again led the team in kills with 14, to go along with a hitting percentage of .316. Allard added nine kills, while
Kaylie Marks recorded six kills and a team-best .545 hitting percentage, to go along with a team-high two blocks. Allard and Heck each finished with 16 assists, while Heck and Klika each tallied 16 digs.
The Red Hawks will be in action at the Pointer Invitational again on Saturday when they'll face Edgewood and Bethel (Minn.) at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, in Stevens Point, Wis.
