RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon women's soccer team fell behind early Wednesday afternoon, en route to a 5-2 loss to St. Norbert College. The Green Knights also held a 21-14 shot advantage, including a 10-3 advantage in the first half, which saw them lead 2-0 after the first 45 minutes.

Hanna Lech got the scoring started in the 17th minute with her third goal of the season for St. Norbert. The Green Knights would score again 10 and a half minutes later when Lech found Dana Schwab for her sixth goal of the year.

SNC added to their lead in the opening minutes of the second half when Lech assisted on Madalyn Sanderfoot's seventh goal of the season. Sanderfoot would add another goal nearly four minutes later, with the assist going to Monica Stephans. Ripon would mount a late comeback with goals by Brianna Schnell and Jacie Verstegen, but it wasn't enough, as Sanderfoot added an insurance goal in the final minutes to cap the scoring for the Green Knights.

Miye Aoki-Kramer and Stefani Zeiger combined to save 10 shots at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks. Ally Magiera played all 90 minutes between the pipes for St. Norbert, making 10 saves.

With the loss, Ripon drops into a fifth-place tie in the Midwest Conference standings, just one-half game out of the fourth and final playoff spot with two games to play. The Red Hawks will be in action again on Saturday when they'll host Beloit College in at Prairie Field in their regular season finale, which will also serve as Senior Day, honoring Shelbi Buettner, Becky Schwindt, Brooke Albrecht, Cassidy Blaney, and Naomi Jiter.
