RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon College volleyball team came out hot Saturday afternoon, winning their first set against Illinois College 28-26, but that was the last set they'd win, as the Lady Blues took the next three (25-18, 25-18, 25-21).
Illinois College (14-4, 3-1 MWC) finished with 60 kills on the day, to go along with a hitting percentage of .270. Ripon (6-14, 1-2 MWC) recorded 52 kills and a hitting percentage of .180.
For the second consecutive day,
Emily Allard paced Ripon with 18 kills, which is two shy of her career high.
Inesha Wiseman added 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .229.
Kaylie Marks and
Brooke Bauer each finished with nine kills, while Marks led the team in blocks with four (one solo).
Olivia Heck posted a team-high 43 assists, giving her 1,149 career assists, which moves her into ninth place in program history. Heck also tied for the team lead for digs (16), along with fellow Senior
Stacie Klika.
Illinois College was led by Maddie Ramsey's 15 kills, while Ali Pankey added 12 and MacKenzie Heinz and Brenna Dameris finished wtih 10. Pankey added a match-high 24 digs, while Elizabeth Ganley registered a match-high 50 assists.
Ripon will try to rebound on Wednesday when they'll host St. Norbert College at 7 p.m. in Weiske Gymnasium inside Willmore Center. That match can be seen live at
