RACINE, Wis. – Ripon's men's tennis team opened their 2018 conference season with a 9-0 loss to Lake Forest College on Saturday. The Red Hawks lost all six singles matches, before losing the three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-2.
 
The most competitive singles matches came at the third, fourth, and fifth flights. Emilio Tijerino and Daniel Garcia lost at numbers three and five, respectively, by identical 6-0, 6-1 scores, while Adrian Granados lost his number four match by a score of 6-1, 6-0. In doubles play, Garcia teamed up with Chris Mooney to lose at the third flight by a score of 8-2.
 
Ripon (0-9, 0-1 MWC) will be in action again on April 7 when they'll host Monmouth and Illinois College at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at The Field House in Willmore Center.
