Ripon Plays To A Tie Against UW-Stout

RIPON, Wis. - After 110 minutes, including two overtimes, Ripon's women's soccer team ended Sunday's game against UW-Stout tied at three. The Red Hawks mounted a furious comeback to get to that point, scoring three second half goals, including two in a two-minute span to tie the score.

UW-Stout (2-4-1) had a first half much like Ripon's second half, breaking a scoreless tie on Allison Klotz's first goal of the season just eight and a half minutes into the contest. Less than three minutes later, the Blue Devils were on the board again on Sydney Kasper's third goal of the year. Caylee Boone added another goal for UW-Stout just before halftime to give them a three-goal lead.

Five minutes into the second half, Ripon (1-3-1) got on the board on Paige Pierce's third goal of the season, on an assist from Camrie Schmitz. With just over nine minutes left in regulation, Schmitz found Pierce again for her second goal of the contest. Less than two minutes later, Abby Ryan tied the score at three, with the assist going to Maggie Bouque.

Ripon out-shot UW-Stout 27-22, including 11-6 in the second half. Ripon Goal Keepers Miye Aoki-Kramer and Stefani Zeiger combined for 12 saves, while Claudia Anderson played all 110 minutes for UW-Stout, making 17 saves.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll host UW-Stevens Point. That game will begin at 4 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon, and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
