RIPON, Wis. - Playing their fourth state school of the season, and third in a row, the Ripon women's soccer team lost to UW-Stevens Point Wednesday afternoon by a score of 3-0. The Pointers also out-shot the Red Hawks by a 24-6 margin, including 15-4 in the second half.
UW-Stevens Point (6-1-1) wasted no time getting on the board, as they scored the game's first goal just 27 seconds into the contest on Gracie Wendels' second goal of the season on an assist from Maddy Hardyman. Seven minutes later, Hardyman found Wendels again for another goal to give the Pointers a 2-0 lead, which is where the score would remain at halftime. The Pointers added an insurance goal with 12 and a half minutes left in the second half when Bri Widmer found Alexis Petersen for her first goal of the season.
Both starting Goal Keepers played all 90 minutes in the game.
Miye Aoki-Kramer saved 11 shots for Ripon, while Lexi Pawlowski made three saves for UW-Stevens Point.
Ripon will be in action again on Sunday when they'll open their conference season at Lake Forest College. That game will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Lake Forest, Ill., and will have LiveStats available atÂ
