LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Ripon's women's soccer team got off to a great start to their 2018 conference season Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 victory at Lake Forest College.
The Red Hawks (2-4-0, 1-0-0 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 22nd minute to take the lead on
Paige Pierce's fifth goal of the season. The only other goal of the game came in the second half when Pierce added a second goal in the 84th minute. A Junior from Green Bay, Wis., Pierce now has 28 career goals, which is tied for seventh in program history.
Lake Forest (4-6-0, 0-2-0 MWC) split time at Goal Keeper, as Paige Thiel and Sandra Greco each played a half, combining for five saves. Ripon Goal Keeper
Miye Aoki-Kramer played all 90 minutes, making three saves for her first shutout of the season and seventh of her career, which is tied for the fourth-most in program history.
Ripon will be in action again on Saturday when they'll travel to Knox College. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Galesburg, Ill.
