Ripon Sees Halftime Lead Slip Away

GALESBURG, Ill. - Ripon's women's soccer team got off to a great start Saturday, building a 2-0 lead in the first half against Knox College. The Prairie Fire would score the next three goals of the day however to pull out a 3-2 victory over the Red Hawks.

Paige Pierce started the scoring, getting Ripon (2-5-1, 1-1-0 MWC) on the board in the seventh minute on her seventh goal of the season. Pierce added her second goal of the game in the 37th minute on an assist from Maggie Bouque, marking Pierce's second consecutive two-goal game. That also gives Pierce 30 career goals, making her just the sixth player in program history to reach that milestone.

Knox (6-2-2, 2-0-0 MWC) cut that lead in half on a Cayne Randle goal just two minutes before halftime. They would tie things up in the 70th minute on Rosie Medina's first goal of the season. Forty-seven seconds later, Knox took their first and final lead of the game on Randle's second goal of the game, with the assist going to Medina.

Miye Aoki-Kramer played the entire game at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making 10 saves. Her counterpart, Katy Coseglia, also played all 90 minutes for Knox.
