AURORA, Ill. - On the second and final day of Aurora University's Jim Coleman Memorial Classic, Ripon's volleyball team lost a pair of matches, falling to both Aurora and Carthage in three sets. The Red Hawks lost their first match of the day to Aurora by a score of 26-24, 25-21, 25-23, before losing their second and final match 25-13, 25-18, 25-11.
Aurora (7-4) recorded at least 14 kills in each set against the Red Hawks, finishing with a hitting percentage of .246, while Ripon (5-10) also managed double digit kills in each set, recording a team hitting percentage of .126.
Emily Allard led the Red Hawks with 11 kills and 15 digs, while
Kaylie Marks and
Inesha Wiseman chipped in with seven and six kills, respectively.
Olivia Heck led the team with 32 assists, while
Melinda Boehm recorded a team-best four service aces, to go along with two blocks.
In the day's final match, Carthage (9-7) recorded at least 16 kills in all three sets, while finishing with a hitting percentage of .333. Ripon was again led by Allard's team-highs of eight kills, .200 hitting percentage, and 15 digs.
Brooke Bauer also recorded eight kills, while
Stacie Klika added six, to go along with five digs. Heck led Ripon with 25 assists in the match.
