Three First Half Goals Doom Red Hawks Against MSOE

RIPON, Wis. - Ripon allowed three first half goals Saturday, en route to a 4-1 loss at the hands of MSOE. The Red Hawks were also out-shot by the Raiders by a 31-5 margin, including 19-1 in the second half.

MSOE (2-2-0) wasted no time, scoring the game's first goal just three minutes into the contest on Rade Novakovich's second goal of the season. Ripon (0-3-0) would tie things up just eight and a half minutes later on Braden Kobus' first collegiate goal, thanks to an assist by Adrian Granados. That tie lasted until the 38th minute when Novakovich found the back of the net again, before recording a hat trick with another goal two minutes later to give MSOE a 3-1 halftime lead. Novakovich added a fourth goal in the second half to account for all of his team's scoring.

Ripon Goal Keeper Cole Jurish played all 90 minutes for the Red Hawks, making 13 saves. His counterpart, Ron Marchionna, saved two shots in his 90 minutes of work.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Sunday when they'll host MacMurray College at 1 p.m. That game will be played at Prairie Field in Ripon, and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
