Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Red Hawks Can't Get Past Green Knights

RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's basketball team lost to conference-leading St. Norbert Saturday afternoon by a score of 75-57. Ripon shot 35 percent (17-49) in the game, while St. Norbert converted 48 percent (28-59) of their field goals.

The two teams were stuck in a see-saw battle for much of the first half, which featured four ties and four lead changes. With St. Norbert leading 20-15 with seven minutes left in the half, Ripon went on a 7-0 run to take the lead, but that was quickly answered by six St. Norbert points in a row, giving the Green Knights the lead for good, while taking a 31-25 lead at the half.

SNC came out firing in the second half, which began with an 8-1 run to give the Green Knights a 13-point advantage. Ripon would cut that lead to eight, but that's as close as they would get, as St. Norbert led by double-digits for the final 12 minutes.

Tyson Tully led Ripon with 14 points and five rebounds, while Trent Jones and Cal Schultz each added 11 points. The Red Hawks were outscored in the paint by a 32-16 margin.

St. Norbert was led by Wade Geenen's 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-3 from 3-point range, to go along with four assists. Connor Curtis added 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Joe Lemon and Drew Yetka chipped in with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Ripon will be in action again on Friday when they'll travel to Monmouth College. That game will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Monmouth, Ill., and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
