Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Ripon Defeats Finlandia

RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team led from start to finish Wednesday afternoon, defeating Finlandia 2-0. The Red Hawks dominated most of the game, out-shooting Finlandia by a 27-6 margin, including 11-1 in the second half.

Ripon (1-10-1) wasted no time getting on the board, as Braden Kobus' first goal of the season came just one minute and 12 seconds into the contest, with the assist credited to Esteban Borja. The Red Hawks added an insurance goal in the 34th minute when freshman Charles Schultz scored his first collegiate goal, unassisted, into the right corner of the net.

Ripon Goal Keeper Kenny Smith played all 90 minutes, making one save. Finlandia's Noah Raisanen also played the entire game for the Lions (3-11-1), saving 12 shots.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Saturday when they'll jump back into conference play at Grinnell College. That game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
